Work Study: Weapons, Support and Ground Vehicles

The Multi-purpose Armored All-terrain Vehicle- model Five is a House Thulun light military armored rover with a wide range of features and highly imported in both military and commercial/civilian markets throughout the quadrant. Armored access panels for the engine, sensors, and environmental control systems protect vital components. An air-tight door separates the two-person cab from the rear compartment, which can seat five (or two in powered armor) and allows either to function as an airlock. Emergency gear and provisions are stored under each seat or in floor compartments. Tools for field repairs can be found in armored wheel hubs and in lockers under the front doors. Emergency hatches are installed in the roof above either front seat. An 'open' turret can be installed above the front 'shotgun' side emergency hatch with a pintle mount for a light support weapon. A rear hatch allows access to the rear compartment, and an optional main turret can carry light support cannon, missiles, and so on.

Taken from old Earth technology, the Beachmaster is a fully functional 4 wheeled light all terrain vehicle whose tires and suspension system can be retracted into wheel wells and a directional impeller and hydroplane system engaged to make it a functional jet ski. The Beachmaster is popular on smaller vessels who have limited capacity for excursionary or light support vehicles.

The Samson is fully sealed construction/utility exoframe with a pair of manipulator hands that operate via force feedback waldo systems the same as with Leviathan Armor. Besides the manipulators are a pair of universal mounts for claws, drills, plasma cutters, saws, and other equipment. Some commercial trade ships, almost all military, and all star ports operate either these or their ancient forklift cousins. The Samson has a 12 hour reserve air tank as well as a thruster pack for extra-vehicular activity in space.

With a 12 hour integral air supply and Extravehicular Mobility in the form of a thruster pack, EVA suits are toughly armored against micrometeorites. The military versions come even more durable, even proof against some small arms.

Standard Combat Environment Suit with a 12 hour gas reserve for the rebreather, removable MMU (Manned Maneuver Unit) for EVAs, and will stop most light to moderate small arms fire.

Weapons List:

Fleet Series Neptune: A 20mm rotary chambered charge cannon used by the Templar Knights as a squad-level heavy support weapon.

Fleet Series Hydra: Plasma thrower used by the Templar as close quarters fire support and area denial.

Fleet Series Leviathan Gun MOD II: Standard Templar heavy rifle using a 30mm charge caseless cannon round.

Universal Grenade System: A common grenade shell for a number effects including smoke, incendiary, EMP, HE, and anti-personnel.

Fighting Knife: Ubiquitous combat and utility knife forged from a highly compressed, aligned-crystal steel. The metal is of an extremely high density; extremely durable blade that can hold a near-molecular edge thickness and strong enough to pry rusty bolts off a sewer drain.

Machete: Made to a similar standard as the fighting knife, the quadrant-standard machete is used to clear light brush, and with its ultrasonic drive can slice through a cm thick steel bolt or even light vehicle armor.

The Templar Null Blade is a Leviathan-sized relic weapon given to top-notch Templar squad commanders. There isn't much it can't cut through.

Type 15 charge pistol- Charge pistols electrically fire chemically-propelled slugs of lead, uranium, or other soft, dense material in much the same way as firearms of old but use far fewer moving parts, allowing for far greater accuracy and rate of fire. The type 15 is a light frame semi-automatic first introduced by House Rychart late in the settlement era. It is widely used as a hold-out, or concealed carry piece due to its slight size and slender profile. (Magazine capacity 17).

The Mark 18 Laser Pistol is a relic from the 'dark' age before the Exodus. Power cells can still be manufactured but they are are expensive. The weapons themselves are highly prized aboard starships due to their lack of recoil- which makes zero-gee combat exceptionally difficult, as well as the laser's lack of penetrating power through portholes and bulkheads. (12 shots per normal cell)

The Type 11 Charge Pistol is a House Thulun favorite that is quite common throughout known space due to its dependability and high power. The Cadar military has introduced specialty ammo in the form of chem-tracker, armor piercing-explosive, and a tranq kit that replaces the bolt and barrel with a smoothbore, single-shot set up for tranquilizer darts. (mag capacity 10-14).

Type 21 Heavy Needler: A Steel Song favorite, the heavy needler strips razor-sharp shards from a block of carbium polymer using a high-powered magnetic cyclotron and shoots them down the barrel at high speed. Range and accuracy is limited compared to similar sized charge weapons, but to unarmored targets, no weapon is as utterly devastating. (25-30 shots)

Remington 1100 Shorty Cruiser: Both 10 and 12 gauge versions of this ancient weapon are available to personal and military orders alike. Even after millennia, the shotgun is a mainstay for defensive and offensive fights alike. The Shorty Cruiser is a compact, modernized version of the same weapon that followed humankind's ascent from ancient west through the post-apocalyptic city domes of old Earth to the stars above.

Fleet Series Light Leviathan: Designed for use by the Templar Knights in their massive Leviathan armored suits, the Light Leviathan is capable of being (albeit ungainily) wielded by an unarmored operator with a folding recoil reducing stock and recoil compensator. Firing 25mm caseless rounds, ANY Templar weapon is devastating, even when used as a carbine by an unarmored fighter. (mag capacity 10)

GAU-111 Trident: This rotary support light machinegun uses 6mm caseless ammunition stored in 100 or 200 round drum magazines with a variable rate of fire and modular grip to allow for power armored troops with larger hands to use. The integral optics and targeting computer allow for use with a gyro-stabilized mount or as a fully integrated part of an armored suit. Also known as the baby brother of the Templar Neptune.

GAU-96 Rotary Shotgun: A weapon minimally larger than the Trident, the GAU-96 was devised as a close-in point defense weapon for vehicles and fortifications. As such it is absolutely devastating at close range, and when loaded with AP grenade rounds can even pound a Leviathan into a bloody ruin in short order.

GR-11 Gyrojet rifle: re-introduced as a zero-gee combat weapon, Gyrojets use a chemically propelled rocket projectile that allows for low to zero recoil. The propellant is low-duration hih-impulse which burns out before the rocket leaves the launch tube, allowing for high penetration in close quarters. This can be either a good or a bad thing, depending on what is struck. (10 or 20 round drum)

The M119 is a relatively large caliber infantry support gauss rifle that uses a tightly coiled series of electromagnets to propel a ferrous- or ferrous-coated projectile at velocities that could be considered near-relativistic. The Cadar-developed Magna Cannon is the only man portable weapon that can truly match the bulk of Templar weapons, and are ferociously protected by the Cadari military. As such they are usually contraband weapons. (mag capacity 8)

The M163 is usually found on vehicles as a long range unguided heavy support weapon allowing for a number of payloads to be used against armored or unarmored targets. The weapon breaks open between the breech and receiver to allow for compact stowage. (capacity 8)

AR-177 Assault Rifle: A charge weapon using caseless ammunition, the AR-177 uses a ported barrel-type recoil compensator to allow for relatively accurate automatic fire up to 1400rpm. Normally used in semi-auto or 2 round burst configuration. (mag capacity 50-70)

M-302 grenade launcher: Using a standard 5 round magazine, the M-302 is a 30mm multipurpose grenade launcher usually mated to another weapon, though comes with a stand-alone kit with a folding stock, grip, iron and a computerized reflex sight.

The PLR-22 is a relic, rifle-sized laser weapon with a 300 kilojoule capacity and rated to about 20 shots per cell charge. Prized by space-faring users

M71: Considered a Designated Marksman's Rifle, the weapon's accuracy comes from the fact that its a high-powered gauss rifle with a small projectile (8mm) Inherently an armor piercing weapon, the M71 has been used to great effect on airless worlds in actions that rapidly decompress the atmosphere from enemy vehicles and structures. Fires from a 20 round magazine and power cell module.

The M-79 heavy rifle is in fact a heavy caliber charge caseless semi-automatic rifle intended to allow unarmored users to open armored targets. Relatively cheap to produce and maintain, the weapon was first introduced by De Valtos syndicate as an anti-Xeno weapon, though it was inherently accurate enough to be used by squad designated marksmen.

M-10 laser pod: A third party-repurposed relic laser weapon used to up-arm light vehicles, add to a motor-driven tripod as a remote-operated sentry gun, or even to add additional firepower to powered armor.

M-11 shotgun pod: A similar, more cost effective weapon as the M-10, only using a short-barreled, drum fed automatic shotgun for close range self defense.

GAU-87 Minigun: Using the same caseless ammunition as the GAU-111 and with similar performance, the GAU-87 is heavier, more durable, and without the limitations of a set-capacity ammo drum. Feeds from the MS series Universal Munition Bins.

GAU-88 Rotary Cannon: Similar in performance as the Templar's Neptune cannon, the GAU-88 uses a rotary barrel configuration, instead of the Neptune's rotary chamber system. Feeds from the MS series Universal Munition Bins.

M-76 Rotary Grenade Launcher: Essentially a 40mm light mortar, the M-76 has a 400rpm cyclic rate, and with the wide array of combat and utility grenade loads available, is popular on rovers and landers as a universal defense platform. Feeds from the MS series Universal Munition Bins.

MPL-10 Support Laser: With a heavy and cumbersome casing, the support laser is a dark age relic powerful enough to cut even a Narvidian warrior in half. HIGHLY sought by essentially everyone, the 'barrel' of the weapon is automatically removed and stored alongside the body of the weapon when not in use to allow a proper cool down and to allow more compact storage. The support laser is powered by the host vehicle, but requires a Type 7 pod for both cooling the weapon and expanding the charge of the laser's integral capacitors.

M-51 Auto Grenade Launcher: Based on ancient old- Earth technology, the AGL can nonetheless put a LOT of firepower on target VERY fast and very cheaply.

M-261 Hydra II is yet more old Earth tech that has somehow outlasted its own obsolescence by being just so damned useful. Seven rockets of various type- from flechette, HE, armor piercing, smoke, tear gas, ect for direct or indirect fires.

The AIM-120 is a dual-tube Anti-aircraft missile system that uses an array of sensory systems to acquire and track targets, and kill them at up to 20km in atmosphere and roughly 200 in space.

The AGM 125 Hellstreak is a standard anti-tank high performance missile launcher first introduced by House Thulun only recently. The Hellstreak has a dial-a-yield damage system that allows for several different modes, from stand off, shaped charge, delayed penetrative, and simple high explosive. Range about 60km.
